That includes many children and adults with APD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD/ADH
If you or your child has an auditory processing problem, it means they
struggle to make sense of language in the way that others can.
Everyday
processes like listening, forming words and
spelling are very difficult for a child with an auditory processing
problem.
Due to this you may notice that your child had delayed speech and is challenged to
learn to read and communicate fluently.
Successful listening and learning depend on good auditory processing. Auditory processing means the ability to translate the stream of vocal speech sounds into words and meaning, and then build on those sounds as speech.
The balance between the two hemispheres of the brain is of fundamental
importance in APD and learning in general, which is known as "whole
brain learning".
Both hemispheres play a role in processing language,
however the roles they play are different. The eye must combine with the
power and the quality of the ear to make sense of the written sounds.
This cross-hemisphere co-ordination happens easily as the left
hemisphere deals primarily with auditory language and the right
hemisphere deals with vision.
However, in APD, the route which
allows for processing has often been damaged or needs stimulation, so we look to
re-train the brain with the Sound Therapy Listening Program.
With an ever increasing emphasis on education and literacy, more and
more children and adults are needing help with learning to read, spell,
express their thoughts on paper and master the use of grammar.
Left unchecked, these learning challenges
not only have an impact on performance, but can lead to low self-confidence and self worth. Even worse, they can often lose belief in themselves and feel so discouraged, that they
stop trying altogether.
Left unchecked, the learning challenges of APD not only have an
impact on performance, but can lead to low self-confidence and self
worth. We know these feelings can be turned around due
to the positive benefits our users experience from the sound therapy, which
leads to
a lot more confidence and self worth, making for a happier home,
school or work
situation.
The "Sound Therapy Listening Program" used with adults, teenagers and children of all ages and abilities is an easy to use 5 level program that combines innovative sound technology
with a wide selection of music. The program gently gives the brain a
natural sonic workout, creating new neural connections that helps with APD as a result.
The program is proven in studies to stimulate cross hemisphere co-ordination that
help's APD, whilst increasing focus and general learning. There
are also other positive benefits that you will pleasantly find out about
as you browse the
page.
We need to say that although the program benefits all users of any age
and ability, in studies its been shown to be highly effective for
adults, children and adolescents with Dyspraxia, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Asperger's Syndrome and Auditory Processing Disorder.
As the program gives the brain a cross hemisphere workout, as a result we see improvements in concentration and focus.
With the improvements in concentration and focus that most users experience, it leads to learning becoming easier.
As learning starts to improve and becomes easier, positive self-confidence starts to grow inside and out.
Because the program induces cross-hemisphere synchronisation it has a positive impact upon co-ordination.
The program has an effect upon focus and concentration, which we believe has an impact upon impulse and behaviour.
I can tell you there is no better feeling than to see a smile on a face that says I'm doing better and feeling happier.
It’s so effective, schools across the United Kingdom are using it to help treat children with special needs and educational & behavioral challenges, as well as successfully using it with mainstream learners.

One of the real benefits is that you don't need to spend hours of time listening, as part of our research results came from users only listening to one 10 minute track/day.
We are alongside you throughout the program, to support and guide you, answering any questions you may have. Questions not only related to the program, but to learning and behavior in general, as we have a wealth of knowledge and experience that we can share.
A study conducted by the Cognitive Drug Research Group, a top UK and international cognitive testing and research company, found that all users made an improvement, but those facing challenges from dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD, ADHD and other learning and behavioral problems improved more significantly using our program for just 10 minutes a day.
Memory also improved by an astonishing 46% to 73% in our test group, which could have implications for learning and those with short term memory challenges.

Even though we have some great results with dyspraxia, dyslexia, ADHD, auditory processing disorder and other learning challenges, we have also had some very good results and feedback from those who have purchased the program to help them focus and learn more effectively. So it can be used by anyone of any age who would like to give their brain a 5 level workout.
The program is designed to educate or re-educate the brain to enable more effective processing by speeding up, slowing down or through cross hemisphere synchronisation that brings about whole brain learning. This is maintained throughout the use of the program and gives the brain a chance to re-adjust as it works through the levels. Once the program is completed you will find that cognitive and emotional behaviour will of changed in a positive way and it lasts.
However, what we also find is that the program can be used periodically, when it is felt that it is needed as a boost, such as before exams, sports events or when stressful situations arise, so it becomes like a tool in the toolbox to use as required.
If you listened to the auditory feedback from the SEN teachers further up the page you will of heard them say that they have seen results in as quickly as 5 minutes of listening to the program. As each individual is different, then results will vary, but will be consistent with using the program on a daily basis initially. Our research also showed results with users spending 10min/day or 1 track whilst others prefer 20min or 2 tracks per day which they felt was more intense and helped speed up the process. What we do know is that you will see positive results and they may be in areas that you did not expect which is why we ask users to create a base line of their activities and abilities before and after using the program.
We don't actually put a limit on the listening as we have had users who have enjoyed the music and have listened many times a day. However, my advice would be to start off with one or two tracks/day and see how that feels initially then more if it feels like you are getting more benefit or using the program fo a specific purpose such as exams or other stressful situations or times when you need a burst of focused attention..
We suggest that you have a cut off period of at least 2 hours before going to bed. The reason for this is that due to the program giving the brain a workout
What we noticed at times is that users can sometimes but rarely feel a little light headed when starting out on the program. If this happens, because after all the brain is being worked, then we advise at least a glass of water before listening. Although nobody has given us feedback on any headaches it's another reason why some water is recommended just in case.
Although some users have moved up a level before the recommended 2 weeks, others have stayed on a level for 4 weeks or more because they feel that it is really making a difference. Some users move up the levels and maybe get to level 4 and revert back to level 3 because they felt that was doing them more benefit and level 4 may of been a little too fast. Whatever your process of working through the levels from 1-5 or starting at 4 back to 2 for maybe some of the ADHD users we are always here to share knowledge and best practice.
In terms of support the founder of the program Jeff Moran is always there to answer your questions and advise on various products and issues that have to do with the program and often outside the program, in areas of general learning and behaviour. He can be contacted through his personal email or if a telephone call is the better option then we can arrange that. We also have the live chat with the team that you can find on each page where we can help with any questions. However Jeff is the expert in the field.
This question comes up a lot and our answer is that we carried out the research with CDR using really cheap mp3 players and earbuds, so the answer is in our experience and to get results then no. However if you choose to get a decent pair of comfortable headphones then by all means do so as it may improve the listening experience, just like sitting on a comfy chair.
What we have suggested and used on several occasions is that 2 speakers are placed in the room on opposite side so when the user is in the middl-ish then they still get the cross-hemisphere effect, or even better play a track in the car. So yes there are way to get the user to listen without headphones because a good part of the program is to enjoy it.
Yes, we find it works well as a complement to Forbrain as it provides a strong and complete multi-sensory training, but we would suggest you try the Sound Therapy listening Program before moving to Forbrain.
The main aim was to create a program that was affordable and could be used with a wide range of users. Because it is a generic program it does not require tailor made solutions, which often ramp up the cost and are not always necessary.
So if you shop around you will find that we are one of the most, if not the most cost effective solution in the market and we always say that before you spend possibly hundreds if not thousands on a solution, give ours a go as you may be pleasantly surprised.
Yes, you can use the program again and again and also share it with other members of your household for them to gets the benefits. Users listen to it when they feel they need a recharge or as mentioned before in certain situations such as before exams, interviews, sports activities etc. It's your to use for life.
