Even though we have some great results with dyspraxia, dyslexia, ADHD, auditory processing disorder and other learning challenges, we have also had some very good results and feedback from those who have purchased the program to help them focus and learn more effectively. So it can be used by anyone of any age who would like to give their brain a 5 level workout.
The program is designed to educate or re-educate the brain to enable more effective processing by speeding up, slowing down or through cross hemisphere synchronisation that brings about whole brain learning. This is maintained throughout the use of the program and gives the brain a chance to re-adjust as it works through the levels. Once the program is completed you will find that cognitive and emotional behaviour will of changed in a positive way and it lasts.
However, what we also find is that the program can be used periodically, when it is felt that it is needed as a boost, such as before exams, sports events or when stressful situations arise, so it becomes like a tool in the toolbox to use as required.
If you listened to the auditory feedback from the SEN teachers further up the page you will of heard them say that they have seen results in as quickly as 5 minutes of listening to the program. As each individual is different, then results will vary, but will be consistent with using the program on a daily basis initially. Our research also showed results with users spending 10min/day or 1 track whilst others prefer 20min or 2 tracks per day which they felt was more intense and helped speed up the process. What we do know is that you will see positive results and they may be in areas that you did not expect which is why we ask users to create a base line of their activities and abilities before and after using the program.
We don’t actually put a limit on the listening as we have had users who have enjoyed the music and have listened many times a day. However, my advice would be to start off with one or two tracks/day and see how that feels initially then more if it feels like you are getting more benefit or using the program fo a specific purpose such as exams or other stressful situations or times when you need a burst of focused attention.
We suggest that you have a cut off period of at least 2 hours before going to bed. The reason for this is that due to the program giving the brain a workout
What we noticed at times is that users can sometimes but rarely feel a little light headed when starting out on the program. If this happens, because after all the brain is being worked, then we advise at least a glass of water before listening. Although nobody has given us feedback on any headaches it’s another reason why some water is recommended just in case.
Although some users have moved up a level before the recommended 2 weeks, others have stayed on a level for 4 weeks or more because they feel that it is really making a difference. Some users move up the levels and maybe get to level 4 and revert back to level 3 because they felt that was doing them more benefit and level 4 may of been a little too fast. Whatever your process of working through the levels from 1-5 or starting at 4 back to 2 for maybe some of the ADHD users we are always here to share knowledge and best practice.
In terms of support the founder of the program Jeff Moran is always there to answer your questions and advise on various products and issues that have to do with the program and often outside the program, in areas of general learning and behaviour. He can be contacted through his personal email or if a telephone call is the better option then we can arrange that. We also have the live chat with the team that you can find on each page where we can help with any questions. However Jeff is the expert in the field.
This question comes up a lot and our answer is that we carried out the research with CDR using really cheap mp3 players and earbuds, so the answer is in our experience and to get results then no. However if you choose to get a decent pair of comfortable headphones then by all means do so as it may improve the listening experience, just like sitting on a comfy chair.
What we have suggested and used on several occasions is that 2 speakers are placed in the room on opposite side so when the user is in the middl-ish then they still get the cross-hemisphere effect, or even better play a track in the car. So yes there are way to get the user to listen without headphones because a good part of the program is to enjoy it.
Yes, we find it works well as a complement to Forbrain as it provides a strong and complete multi-sensory training, but we would suggest you try the Sound Therapy listening Program before moving to Forbrain.
The main aim was to create a program that was affordable and could be used with a wide range of users. Because it is a generic program it does not require tailor made solutions, which often ramp up the cost and are not always necessary.
So if you shop around you will find that we are one of the most, if not the most cost effective solution in the market and we always say that before you spend possibly hundreds if not thousands on a solution, give ours a go as you may be pleasantly surprised.
Yes, you can use the program again and again and also share it with other members of your household for them to gets the benefits. Users listen to it when they feel they need a recharge or as mentioned before in certain situations such as before exams, interviews, sports activities etc. It’s your to use for life.
